Abstract

Proposed is a reusable cover that protects electrical contact pins from damage while a wire cable assembly remains disconnected from a mating receptacle. Figure 1 illustrates cover 10 as a flat, thinly shaped plate having suitable width and length dimensions 12 and 14 that overlaps a connector housing 30 thereunder. Attached to the underside of cover 10 is a tubular chamber 16 having internal screw threads (not shown) therein.

Figure 2 shows cover 10 being secured to the connector housing 30. Cover 10 fastens to connector 30 by a twisting motion of thumbscrew 32 (on connector 30) into the tubular chamber 16.
