Referring to Figure 1, an ink refill system 10 makes use of valve interconnects 22 and 24 located between printhead 11 and an external sump (not shown). Front face 13 of printhead 11 contacts maintenance cap 20 at cap gaskets 18. A positive pressure applied to inlet port 16 fds manifold 12. The filling avoids excessive front face flooding. A
