Abstract

Disclosed is a cleaning system and method of cleaning belts and drums which comprises a contacting the belt or drum surface to be cleaned with a tacky surface, for example, a polyurethane belt. The method and apparatus can be used for removing dust and lint from belted articles and is particularly effective for drum articles. The tacky surface belt can be an endless belt, or preferably a reel type, belt system which can be continuously taken up and refreshed as it becomes fouled during cleaning.
