Abstract

High volume copiers and printers have software fdes containing lists of high frequency replacement items. These items are represented by icons on a user interface and are opened by a Customer Service Engineer to show suggested replacement intervals and the last time replaced. Disclosed is the addition of a field that allows the Customer Service Engineer to type in a short narrative detailing why the part was changed or any other pertinent information. These messages could be reviewed on future service calls to improve service efficiency.
