In a single component development system, proposed is a charge metering blade mounting assembly which will allow easier replacement of the metering blade. Such an assembly will allow for access to the metering blade without disassembly of the entire customer replaceable unit and removal of the developer housing.

In a single component development system, proposed is a charge metering blade mounting assembly which will allow easier replacement of the metering blade. Such an assembly will allow for access to the metering blade without disassembly of the entire customer replaceable unit and removal of the developer housing.

Figure 1 demonstrates existing known configurations for a charge metering blade mounting assembly which includes spring steel strip 1 with elastomeric strip 2 bonded thereto. Spring steel strip 1, in turn, is bonded to a rigid metal (such as aluminum) extrusion 3, which is in contact with a pinch plate 4. The entire assembly is mounted into a developer housing with fastener 5. Developer donor roll is depicted as item 6 in Figures 1 and 2.

Figure 2 demonstrates a proposed charge metering blade mounting assembly design which includes proposed spring steel strip 8 with elastomeric strip 2, wherein proposed spring steel strip 8 includes a top edge rolled into an integral loop configuration 9. Proposed
