Abstract

Disclosed is function that overrides an automatic document size determined by sensors in an automatic document feeder. In operation, a user specifies length and width dimensions of the input documents. Then, when an electrophotographic system scans the documents, the system captures only the dimensions programmed by the user. The override feature provides the user with a way to run non-standard size jobs fiom the automatic document handler without creating image quality defects on the output documents. Thus, European paper sizes can be processed by U.S. based machines.
