Abstract

Disclosed is a swiper shutter plate and blade lift collar for use in a sheet compiler. The shutter plate closes off the area of swiper contact to the paper stack allowing sheet ejection without lifting the swiper blade. A rotating collar lifts the swiper blade in an area not contacting the paper. The collar reduces drag, decreases drive torque, and prolongs blade life in the sheet lifting system.
