Abstract

Disclosed is a methodology for emptying containers having developer material therein so they can be refilled, packaged, and shipped to a customer. A cleaning station securely clamps the container in place on a vacuum outlet. The assembly is rotated and a valve actuated allowing developer material to be removed by the vacuum. The container is inspected for defects and when defect-free, returned to a production line for refilling. This methodology reduces the impact on landfills and captures revenue previously lost by disposing of the rejected containers.
