Abstract

Disclosed is the use of an Input Output Terminal (IOT) tray as a job input image source on an electrophotographic printing machine having a bypass from the IOT to a document handler. The user programs an input source such as the document handler, tray 1, or tray 2 on a User Interface (UI). Original documents are loaded into the selected input source and the printer is started. If the input source is a tray, the printer feeds from the tray to the document handler until the tray is empty or the document handler is full. The printer then scans the originals into memory, wherein the process of feeding from the tray to the document handler is repeated until all originals are scanned. When the input is complete, the job is outputted (e.g. marked, and filed).
