Abstract

Disclosed is the use of two algorithms to automatically eliminate problem air bubbles that cause white streak print defects on copies made with Thermal Ink Jet (TLT) printers. The first algorithm predicts air bubble formation based on ambient temperature and duty cycle and periodically primes the TLT printhead. The second algorithm automatically primes the printhead after a predefined number of drops have been fired.
