Abstract

Disclosed is the implementation of a multiple color printing system in liquid ink printers. A plastic supply tank, holding approximately a half-gallon, is premixed and provided for each custom color available. Each color may be a blend of two to four primaries from an available assortment of up to eighteen different primaries. The tank is provided with quick release connectors to fit within the machine. As a print job runs, primary color concentrates, carrier fluid, and charge director replenish the supply tank by a fluid return supply loop, in the machine, as required by control sensors. When the print job is done, the tank is easily removed from the machine and stored until the color is required again.
