Disclosed is a device used to aid machine operators with loading roll media into copy media supply drawers of an electrophotographic printing machine. The device creates a convenient handle that attaches to a media supply arbor allowing easy loading of the roll media.

The media loading aide 1 shown in the figure is a three-piece assembly consisting of a center member handle 10 and two pivoting hook-shaped pieces 11 and 12 connected at opposite ends of handle 10 by means of pivoting joints 13 and 14. The pivoting hooks 11

and 12 are spring-loaded (not shown) to handle 10 in order to retain the device on arbor 15 and media supply 16.

The operator spreads the two hook-shaped ends 11 and 12 to place them over opposite ends of arbor 15. The operator now lifts media 16 and arbor 15 and places them into a media supply drawer (not shown). The hook-shaped ends 11 and 12 are subsequently spread apart in order to remove loading aide 1 from arbor 15. The loading aide also folds into a compact position for convenient storage inside the machine.
