Abstract

Disclosed is a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) calibration function for the monitor on a computer workstation that occurs automatically while the screen saver is running. Normally, CRT calibration is a user-initiated process important in graphic applications requiring high color accuracy. The automatic calibration disclosed here uses a fixed or movable sensor capable of displaying and measuring special patterns necessary to perform the calibration. The screen saver mode activates the calibration process when the workstation is not in use.
