Abstract

Disclosed is the use of waste fines from standard primary color toner processing as feed for a custom blending process that produces made-to-order color toners. The custom formulations can be predetermined on a laboratory scale and programmed into a computer to control feed rates by which these "pre-blended" primary colors are sent to an extruder. This process not only produces a cost benefit to recycling waste toner, but also provides a convenient way to blend colors for custom formulations.
