Abstract

DVD+RW recorders have been recently introduced in the consumer product market. DVD+RW modules for connection to personal computers (PC) have also been proposed. The module is connectable to the PC via an USB port and used by the PC as a storage device. The invention proposes to add to the current DVD+RW recorder (consumer product) the possibility to use it as a storage device for the PC. For a low cost (around 10 US$), the DVD+RW recorder provides a possible mass storage device for the customer's personal computer.
