and Effect of TINOFIX CL® Solid

Aim of this investigation is to elaborate whether different builder systems of a detergent with the same surfactant system cause different dye bleeding effects in a wash bath. Hence a beached cotton swatch dyed with Direct Blue 078 is washed together with as bleached 100% cotton swatch using different detergents. These detergents consist of the same surfactant system but different builder systems.

Materials:

-          Bleeder:  1.05% Solophenyl Blue 4GL 250%  DB 078 on 100% Cotton weave bleached

-          Acceptor:            100% bleached Cotton weave

Application

5g Bleeder  +  5g  Acceptor, Acceptor is replaced after every wash cycle by a new one

2.5 g/l Detergent (Composition see below) with and without 0.75% TINOFIX CL Solid

Liquor Ratio:                    1:10, Tap Water

Temperature:                   30°C

Duration:                          15  Minutes

Squeeze rinse under running tap water 

                                               

Squeeze and spin drying, drying at 60°C in a cabinet

           

5 Wash Cycles using the same Bleeder and a new Acceptor in every wash

The washing trials were conducted using an ATLAS Lintest.
