Abstract

The subject latch design consists of a latch keeper, a switch and its housing. It also employs the ramp surface on top of inner door as a functional element. As illustrated in pictures attached, at door close position, the plastic over mold of latch keeper slides over the ramp surface on inner door top and lock into position by friction. The over mold pushes on the switch arm and activates the switch. At door open position, the door open force, applied through handle, overcome the friction force between the inclined surface of over mold and inner door ramp surface. The latch keeper is disengaged, the switch arm goes back to free state and switch circuit opens.
