Detail Description

The capacitance changes dramatically when water is between the two plates as compared to air. Because of this fact, the electronics can make that capacitance into a switch to shut the water off.

Example:

This information could also be feed into a microprocessor so that the level of the water could be monitored. The flow of water will be shut off when the water hits the level specified. The microprocessor could also be "active". Because it knows the time it takes fill the water from one plate to the next, it could actively shut off the water to an infintie variety of levels.
