Abstract

The TETRA private market customers often come from the defence and rescue forces domain. These forces communication needs often involves quick reaction to emergency events, such as terror incidents, fire in a residential areas etc. A need may arise to enable immediate, ad-hoc communication link between forces, which do not cooperate on a daily basis. The solution has to include data and traffic information transfer. The communication link has to be set as quickly as possible. The PTT service has proven itself as a reliable and fast communication means for such scenarios. Users within the same Talk Group (TG) can communicate among themselves, using the very same RF channel. Such Talk Groups must be predefined entities, and do not lend themselves to be formed dynamically. Moreover, TGs are usually formed from members of a single Public Safety branch. Forming groups of individuals from different branches, presents additional difficulties. Such a dynamic process is the focus of this document.
