Abstract

A rolling bearing for a rotating anode-type X-ray apparatus is provided. The rolling bearing includes a plurality of first rolling elements and at least a second rolling element configured for rolling on a raceway. The first rolling elements are configured having predetermined first hardness value. The second rolling element is configured having predetermined second hardness value, wherein the second hardness value is substantially more than the first hardness value.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001)   This invention relates generally to, rolling bearings and more particularly, to rolling bearings for use especially in a rotating anode-type X-ray apparatus.

[0002)   Generally, in e.g. a rotating anode-type X-ray apparatus, rolling bearings are used for rotatably supporting an anode within an X-ray tube.  However, during bearing operation, materials such as, for example, Silver from lubricant present within the X-ray tube, tend to get deposited on the bearing raceway, and thereby cause irregularity in the shape of the rolling elements within the bearing.

[0003)   Furthermore, irregularity in the shape of the rolling elements results in generation of noise during bearing operation, seizure and deterioration in life of the bearing. 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0004)    In an embodiment, a rolling bearing for a rotating anode-type X-ray apparatus is provided.  The rolling bearing includes a plurality of first rolling elements and at least a second rolling element configured for rolling on a raceway.  The first rolling elements are configured having predetermined first hardness value.  The second rolling element is configured having predetermined second hardness value, wherein the second hardness value is substantially more than the first hardness value.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0006)    Various embodiments of this invention provide a rolling bearing for a rotating anode-type X-ray apparatus.   However, the embodiments are not so limited and may be implemented in connection with other systems such as, for example, rotary shafts in equipments used for performing mechanical operations such as, for example, machining operations. 

[0007)   In general, a rolling bearing according to this invention, comprises a plurality of rolling elements configured for rolling on a raceway.  At least one of the rolling elements is capable of removing a substantial quantity of lubricant material from the raceway.

[0008)    FIG.1 shows an embodiment according to this invention, wherein the rolling bearing comprises a plurality of first rolling elements 1 configured for rolling on a raceway 3.  At least one second rolling element 2 is configured in combination with the first rolling elements 1.   The first and the second rolling elements 1, 2 are configured having the shape of a ball, a roller or any other shape capable of sufficiently bearing the rotating load and also roll over the raceway.
