Background:

Handling of both probes and equipment during electrical measurements can be very difficult. The need for both hands to position the probe makes handling of the measurement equipment difficult. Voice activated systems featured in certain measurement equipment can be difficult to use, can be speaker dependent, and is unsuitable in noise laboratory environments. Usually a second person controls the measurement equipment.

Summary:

Place method of controlling measurement equipment (buttons, etc...) in the probe to facilitate data capture such as buttons to start/stop the measurement and clear the current data.

Invention:

By adding start/stop and clear-sweep buttons on the hand-held probe, a scope or analyzer can be operated without having to disturb the measurement process.
