ADDITIONAL PROPERTIES AND ACTION FOR AN ICON

With this invention, the text from an icon can be deleted but the information will still remain for the icon. If the icon is an application, then when the mouse hovers over the icon, a text box will appear giving additional detail such the process id, CPU utilization, memory utilization as well as buttons or graph etc.

Currently, when you try to delete text from an icon such as the icon's name, you are prevented from doing so on a window environment. With this invention, you will be able to delete the text. Furthermore, when the user places the mouse over the icon, a bubble window will be displayed over the icon. This window is unlike a property dialog window which requires the user to manually left click on the mouse button. Thus, moving the mouse away from the icon will cause the bubble window to disappear. From this bubble window, text about the icon will be displayed such as the deleted text removed earlier from the icon. Other information could be displayed depending on the application using the icon. If the application is a network application, then bandwidth usage would be displayed in a bar graph with real time bandwith usage etc. This invention allow for graph and button and other objects on a hovering window that currently does not exist for a window environment.
