Automatic Adjustment of Calendar Entry Presentation based on the Current Timezone

One of the headaches for the business travelers is to adjust the time of the Calendar entries based on the current timezone they are traveling within. The current tool allows the user to specify the timezone information in the preference and adjust the time on the Calendar entries correspondingly. This is still inconvenient for the user to adjust the preference whenever they reach a new timezone and considering multiple places to change given that people can check calendar entries by multiple means.

The disclosed is a system and method for automatic adjusting the Calendar entry presentation based on the current timezone the user is at. The Calendar entries will be saved in database as GMT time. It is converted to the local time when presented to the user. There is an intelligent agent code running on the user's device to gather the current timezone information and perform the conversion. This agent code uses different means to gather the current timezone based on the commnunication means the user is using to connect to the network. With this system, the user will never need to worry about the timezone conversion. Whenever and however they access the calendar, the entries will be presented based on the timezone they are in.

The disclosed system and method covers four different modes for accessing the calendar service,
i.e., wired voice, wireless voice, wired data and wireless data.
