Abstract

This invention provides long lasting effect to fragrance in cosmetic products applied to the hair and skin. This invention also delivers an excellent sensorial effect to the hair or skin. The benefits come from hydoxyalkyl urea alone or in combination with at least one or more other moisturizing agents in a ratio, which is synergistically increases moisturization efficacy, with a fragrance and optionally other formulation ingredients. Preference is given to Hydroxyethyl Urea as hydroxyalkyl urea.

C.           DESCRIPTION:

The present invention pertains to a perfumed cosmetic composition containing a urea derivative, especially Hydroxyalkyl Urea. This invention is preferably a fragranced hydro-alcoholic solution, containing at least one perfuming agent. Most preferably, the perfuming agent is alcohol soluble.  The preferred urea derivative to be included in this long lasting fragrance product is commercially available under the tradename HYDROVANCETM moisturizer from the firm National Starch & Chemical Company.

The present invention consequently pertains to a hydro-alcoholic composition containing at least one fragrance or perfuming agent and optionally any other ingredient or ingredients intended for use in cosmetic formulation.

The compositions according to the present invention may be in the form of an aqueous, alcoholic or hydro-alcoholic perfumed cosmetic vehicle for the hair or skin, including but not limited to, such solutions or emulsions as perfumed moisturizer lotions or creams, perfumed moisturizer spray lotions, perfumed gels or spray gels, or perfumed cleansing products, conditioners or treatments.

The compositions according to the present invention may also contain or not humectant or moisturizing agents. Examples of moisturizing agents are: algae oligosaccharides, aloe barbadensis leaf polysaccharides, amidinoproline, ammonium lactate, arginine PCA, benzyl hyaluronate, 2,3 butanediol, butyl ethyl propanediol, calcium PCA, chitosan PCA, cooper PCA, corn glycerides, diglycerin, diglycol guanidine succinate, ethyl glucoside, alpha-glucan, glucose, glucose glutamate, glucuronic acid, glycereth-n, glycerin, hydrolyzed collagen PG-propyl dimethiconol, hydrolyzed corn starch, hydrolyzed wheat starch, hydroxyethyl sorbitol, hydroxypropyltrimonium corn/wheat/soy amino acids, lactamide, lactamide DEA, lactamide MEA, lactic acid, lysine PCA, magnesium PCA, manganese PCA, PCA, PEG-10 propylene glycol, pentaerythritol, polyglycerin-n, potassium cocoyl PCA, potassium lactate, potassium lauroyl PCA, potassium PCA, proprylene glycol, sodium aspartate, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer, sodium lactate, sodium malate, sodium PCA, sorbitol, TEA-lactate, TEA-PCA, thiourea, urea, etc.
