Abstract

Jam clearance is a major source of customer annoyance. Eliminating the need to open baffles in order to remove a jammed sheet by having the edge of the paper sticking out beyond the baffles would improve customer satisfaction. This disclosure improves provides numerous open areas between nips, so that even the jammed sheet can often be removed without opening a baffle and upstream sheets are bunched in the same or nearby areas.
