Abstract

This disclosure describes a design for draft shields that uses twist lock technology to allow variable height adjustment capability to almost double the original height. This gives infinite adjustment capability to almost double the original height. The proposed draft shield design consists of two tubes. One tube slides inside the other and the height is fixed as desired by twist locking.

Draft Shields

Draft shields are used for dip coating to control the solvent evaporation from the coated object.  Draft shields are generally designed for each product and pull rate. Any changes to the process speed and formulation can require a different draft shield.  An adjustable draft shield could be used for multiple products.
