Abstract

High volume printers with stacker carts often do not provide a means for easy removal of output when the customer wants to retrieve output and the cart has not reached its full capacity. One solution is to allow the customer to select a "pallet" feature on the control panel to inform the system that the pallet is in the machine and sets an algorithm that only allows the Stacker/Finisher cart to lower to a specified level.

Output Paper Pallet Attachment for Stacker/Finisher Cart

High volume printers with stacker carts often do not provide a means for easy removal of output when the customer wants to retrieve output and the cart has not reached its full capacity.  There is also the additional problem of the customer having to reach down low to remove the output. Currently, to remove output from a cart that has not reached full capacity, the customer selects the “unload” feature, which lowers the cart to the floor. The next step for the customer is to remove the cart from the machine and then remove the output from the cart.

Many printers will be non compliant for section 508 in this area due to the inability to provide customers with an easy solution for removing output above the 15” per the Section 508 requirement.

The Solution:

The customer can select the “pallet” feature on the control panel to inform the system that the pallet is in the machine and sets an algorithm that only allows the Stacker/Finisher cart to lower to a specified level. (The menu provides a list of preset capacity fill levels.) The customer pulls the two front handles, which moves the sliding portion of the pallet out of the machine.  This will position the output for the customer to easily remove from the Stacker/Finisher while the cart is still in the machine.
