Abstract

Most existing channel cables securely mate to electronic device mating connectors via a screwdriver-actuated slotted head screw. There is a need for a means of connecting and disconnecting the channel cables from a device without the use of tools. An interconnection adapter is illustrated that allows disconnection of a 370 channel from an electronic device without using tools. The adapter is comprised of the printed circuit card assemblies 1 and 2 of two short lengths of flexible controlled impedance cable 3. Connector 4 attaches to the electronic device by means of thumb-and- pointer finger-actuated jackscrews 5. The interconnection adapter rigidly attaches to a machine frame via a plate that slides into slots 6. The 370 channel cable 7 attaches to the connector 8.
