Abstract

The cover clip-up tool accurately locates cover to base, ensures excellent cover-to-base sealing, uniform cover deflection and assembly time reduction. Cover with seal 1 is positioned and located in cover locater 2 by three locating pins 3 (Fig. 1). Cover is held in cover locater by vacuum. (Image Omitted) Disk Enclosure (DE) assembly 4, which includes completed file, is positioned onto two locating pins 5 and three mounting pins 6 (Fig. 2). Cover locater 2 is lowered to DE assembly 4. Vacuum is turned off, and cover locater 2 is returned to the up position. The cover is now accurately located to DE assembly 4 (Fig. 3). Cover clips 7 are positioned to cover 1. Cover clip-up arms 8 are activated by air cylinders (Fig. 2).

Cover Clip-Up Device

The cover clip-up tool accurately locates cover to base, ensures excellent cover-to-base sealing, uniform cover deflection and assembly time reduction. Cover with seal 1 is positioned and located in cover locater 2 by three locating pins 3 (Fig. 1). Cover is held in cover locater by vacuum.

(Image Omitted)

Disk Enclosure (DE) assembly 4, which includes completed file, is positioned onto two locating pins 5 and three mounting pins 6 (Fig.
2). Cover clip up arms 8 rotate 90 degrees and downward approximately 25 mm to activate the cover clips, as shown in Fig. 4.

(Image Omitted)

Cover clip-up arms 8 are moved upward and rotate to the start position. The DE assembly is removed from the tool. All clips are activated simultaneously, ensuring uniform cover deflection and uniform sealing between the cover and DE assembly.
