Abstract

Disclosed is a user interface via an IBM System Application Architecture display panel that warns the operator when he attempts to exit the OS/2 Extended Edition 1.0 software installation program without installing features that have already been configured to operate on the network. The user is notified, with a displayed message, that the installation session has encountered a feature that is present in at least one configuration file, but it is not installed. This message panel recommends that the feature needs to be installed before the configuration files can be used. It displays the names of all the configured system features that need to be installed. The actual feature names replace the x's in the figure.
