Solder Masking Technique

The masking of circuit cards and boards to protect predefined areas from solder or spraying can be accomplished inexpensively by using a commercially available laser to cut out custom masks for the entire surface.

Suitable masking paper 10 of sizes to fit entire circuit card surfaces has film- protected adhesive backing and has cut outs 11 to expose selected areas. The protection film is then removed and the mask applied to the card surface.
