Abstract

Disclosed is a system for assisting creation of screen-transition-diagrams. In writing complicated screen-transition-diagrams, some screens and connections are sometimes forgotten. (Figure 1) For avoiding these mistakes, we tried to develop "Automated Template Screen Creation System".

This text was extracted from a PDF file.
At least one non-text object (such as an image or picture) has been suppressed.
This is the abbreviated version, containing approximately 68% of the total text.

[IM] Automatic template screen creation for editting screen -transition diagram.

We have used the following processes when we wrote screen-transition-diagrams.

Places screens on the diagram.

1.

2.

Connects screens. These connections mean screen-transitions.

3.

After repeating 1 and 2 steps, making screen-transition-diagrams are completed.

However, if the number of screens and connections is increased, it is difficult to write correct diagrams. Some screens and transitions are sometimes forgotten. (Figure 1)

Complicated Transition Map

Red connections and screens are forgotten.

(Figure 1)

In order to avoid mistakes, we tried to develop "Automated Template Screen Creation System".

Makes screens. Each screen has a background image, labels, buttons, and so on.

1.

2.

Calculates the number of transition triggers. (Buttons, combo boxes, and so on.)

3.

Places pre-made screen-(a) in the screen-transition-diagram.

4.

If the screen-(a) has 4 transition triggers, then 4 template screens are additionally

5.

placed. (Figure 2)

Next, one template screen is replaced with pre-made screen-(b).

6.

If the screen-(b) has 2 transition triggers, then 2 template screens are created.

7.

Repeats 1-6 steps.

8.

After replacing all of template screens, the screen-transition-diagram is completed

without forgotten screens and transitions. (Figure 3)...
