Abstract

The one-piece molded design maintains the tight dimensional control between the connector and the card edge that is required to ensure that the card tabs will reliably mate with the connector. This guide inserts into the sheet metal chassis, thus eliminating the need for special sheet metal fabrication techniques.

PCI Card Plug Guide

The one-piece molded design maintains the tight dimensional control between the connector and the card edge that is required to ensure that the card tabs will reliably mate with the connector. This guide inserts into the sheet metal chassis, thus eliminating the need for special sheet metal fabrication techniques.

The snap fit design eliminates the need for mounting hardware. The connector snaps into the card guide and the card guide snaps into the chassis. The card then slides into place. No special cards or connectors are needed. See the figure.

The ability to plug the card assemblies also provides the advantages of reduced assembly time and reduced repair time for the PCI units.
