Integrated Head Suspension Assembly

Disclosed is an integrated head suspension assembly which integrates a head arm and a head suspension assembly into one head suspension assembly by lengthening a mount block and making a mount block "channel structure" narrower as the distance from an actuator arm becomes longer so that rigidity is increased.

Fig. 1 shows a head arm assembly (HAA) of prior art which consists of an actuator arm, a head arm, and a head suspension assembly (HSA). The HSA, as shown in Fig. 2, comprises, a mount block, a load beam, a flexure, and a slider.

Fig. 3 shows an integrated head suspension assembly which eliminates a head arm in comparison with the prior art. The mount block of Fig. 3 is made longer, and the "channel structure" narrower, as the distance from the actuator arm becomes longer so as to increase rigidity. The mount block is coupled with the load beam by spot welding. Figs. 4 and 5 show top and side views of the integrated HSA, respectively.
