This article describes the use of conductive ink on adhesive labels. The adhesive labels and ink are made in a variety of configurations for various uses. niques. The product described here combines the versatility of wiring and the adaptability of printed circuit boards with the added feature of ease of repair for conductive lines.

Conductive ink labels are produced by printing a conductive ink on an adhesive label. The label can be paper or a transparent plastic material. The conductive ink is placed on the label by standard ink printing methods, such as an ink jet printer. The ink is composed of a conductive compound, such as fine particles of copper or carbon suspended in a base such as acrylic, or gold and silver filled inks. The resistance would be, for the example of a silver filled epoxy ink, 0.15 ohm/sq/mil. These conductive inks are currently available off-the-shelf items.

Use of standard ink printing methods on standard adhesive labels allows for a variety of controllable and repeatable configurations.
