Abstract

Constructs which are not MO:DCA (A Document Interchange Data Stream Architecture) defined (e.g., Logical Elements such as Figures, Lists, Paragraphs, etc.) may also be identified as indexable elements within a document. These elements may then be independently accessed by a document composer for modification/display without processing the preceding document constructs that contribute to its current state processing requirements. A document residing in a library might be as follows: Begin Document . Document Index (Index Element) Text Object5-Offset (Element Content) Paragraph 1 in Text Object5-Offset Paragraph 2 in Text Object5-Offset Paragraph 3 in Text Object5-Offset . .

This text was extracted from a PDF file.
At least one non-text object (such as an image or picture) has been suppressed.
This is the abbreviated version, containing approximately 81% of the total text.

The Document Index following the MO:DCA Begin Document Wrapper gives a relative offset into the sequential Data Stream document for Paragraphs 1, 2, and 3 within Text Object5. Note that the user defines what a paragraph is in MO:DCA Primitives. Other user-defined constructs might be Figures, List Items, Headers, etc. The user interface to a document composer might be: "Change/Display the second paragraph on page 5 within Text Object5".

Any combination of MO:DCA and user-defined (via MO:DCA Primitives) cons...
