Cleaning Tool As a Credit Card With a Brush and Tape for Cleaning Parts

Disclosed is a tool for cleaning some parts in the slot of a unit, such as a Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR). This new tool consists of a special cleaning brush, cleaning tape and base card. The tool makes cleaning operations easy.

(Image Omitted)

The MSR has magnetic heads, optical sensors and some small parts in its slot where the medium - credit card, banking card, and passbook - passes, as shown in Fig. 1. They will gradually get dirty by a lot of media passing through, but the usual cleaning tool is hard to clean them at one time sufficiently.

This new tool can clean the dust which adhered to the magnetic heads and small parts in the slot effectively at one time in an easy operation similar to normal operation. Three ideas are implemented in the tool as follows: 1. Small spiral brush for cleaning the areas formed by the protrusions and cavities of the parts, as shown in Fig. 2. 2. Cleaning tape for cleaning the surface of a magnetic head, as shown in Fig. 3. 3. The brush is mounted on the base card, such as a credit card, which has a punched-out hole, and the tape is glued on the base card, as shown in Fig. 2 and Fig. 3.
