Controlling the servicer's choice of problem to be repaired from the set of problems existing on the equipment Determining via proper tests if the problem is currently an intermittently failing problem or a solidly failing problem. Analyzing the current state of the equipment with respect to the problem and choosing the correct part replacement strategy based on the current state and previous activity on this equipment. Controlling the choice of removal and replacement procedures for the parts to be replaced by automatically selecting the proper removal/replacement procedures in the proper order

Directing the servicer's actions during the part removal/replacement activities through the use of step-by-step on-line instructions accompanied by supporting on-line graphics.
