Abstract

Disclosed is a color filtering function useful for image processing. A first APA buffer is used for color designation, and a second APA buffer is for storing the color image. The color image in the second APA is compared with the color designated in the first APA using a color compare circuit in a color filter. When the color of the image corresponds with the designated color, the image can pass through the filter with the corresponding color.

Color Filter for Digital Images and Graphics

Disclosed is a color filtering function useful for image processing. A first APA buffer is used for color designation, and a second APA buffer is for storing the color image. The color image in the second APA is compared with the color designated in the first APA using a color compare circuit in a color filter. When the color of the image corresponds with the designated color, the image can pass through the filter with the corresponding color.

The second APA buffer can be divided by partitions into several areas each designating any color. Also, it can designate any color per pixel. This makes it possible to selectively pass any part of the color image through the filter.

Fig. 1 shows a conceptional diagram for the color filtering function, and Fig. 2 shows a circuit of the color filter.
