Desktop Organizer

Provided is a technique to facilitate organization and displaying of multiple windows in order to overcome the deficiencies of conventional windowing systems.

The user has access to opening and using multiple windows using conventional techniques. In order to facilitate finding, sorting, and organizing currently opened windows, the user is provided with a 1-key sequence to achieve the following:

Place all windows in a cardfile like manner using a last used to first used algorithm.

Preserve current window sizes.

As an alternative organizing technique, the user can "zoom" the desktop and visually depict the relative location and size of currently opened windows. The user is also provided with a 1-key sequence to return the system to the previous state.

The benefits to the user are a quick method of organizing and sorting hidden windows into an easy to search manner, as well as providing a simple way of returning to the previous system state.
