Clock And Calendar Counter

Provided is a technique to present time and date information in an automatically decrementing or incrementing fashion to overcome the deficiencies of conventional time and date presentations.

The technique allows users to set timer functions for online clocks. For example, the user can set up the clock as a counter that is either increasing or decreasing to a target time in an automatic manner. A similar technique can be used for calendar or project functions, e.g., the number of days to a specific event. The function can be further generalized to track discrete events in an incrementing or decrementing manner, e.g., number of mail items arriving prior to automatically opening the mail window.

The benefits to the end user are additional function and improved productivity in tracking and displaying numbers of units to a specific event.
