Substrate Standoff

Improved substrate stability is attained with non-symmetrically kinked standoffs that form direct column supports.

Referring to the figure, pins 1 that serve as standoff supports for circuit substrate 2 on board 3, are kinked near the board surface prior to collapse to provide direct column props from the board. This technique produces a flat contact surface 4 that is parallel to the board surface and reduces lateral shift.
