This requires the passage through the furnace of a special calibration module which includes thermocouples for measuring temperature along the furnace. The thermocouples are normally attached by long wires to calibration equipment. This requires stopping the production run for the purpose of calibration.

Furnaces utilized for bonding circuit chips to modules require periodic calibration. This requires the passage through the furnace of a special calibration module which includes thermocouples for measuring temperature along the furnace. The thermocouples are normally attached by long wires to calibration equipment. This requires stopping the production run for the purpose of calibration.

Production use of the furnace can continue by utilizing the apparatus shown in the figure. A calibration module 1 with one or more thermocouples 2 are passed through the oven 3 on a belt 4. The pallet 5 which carries the calibration module 1 now includes a transmitter 6 in an insulated container 7. The temperatures measured by the thermocouples 2 are converted to proportional frequencies which will be transmitted by an antenna 8 to a suitable receiver. The receiver will include display or recording capability to provide the necessary information showing the temperature profile of the furnace 3.
