Abstract

The illustrated mounting allows an arm electronics card to be mounted on the top of the magnetic test arm and provides grounding points by constant spring pressure exerted on ground lands while affording ease of head/suspension mounting due to the spring loaded characteristics. Spring loading allows one to align and insert/remove the connection by means of pressure in various corners of the card along with providing X, Y adjustment for minor misalignment.

Spring Adjustable Mount/Ground for Arm Level Electronics

The illustrated mounting allows an arm electronics card to be mounted on the top of the magnetic test arm and provides grounding points by constant spring pressure exerted on ground lands while affording ease of head/suspension mounting due to the spring loaded characteristics. Spring loading allows one to align and insert/remove the connection by means of pressure in various corners of the card along with providing X, Y adjustment for minor misalignment.

The arm level electronics card 1 is connected to the test arm 2 by means of the springs 3 and the screws 4. The head suspension assembly is inserted while the card 1 is held up in the front end by means of pressure at point 6. Then when the card 1 is released it provides connection by means of spring return.
