Abstract

Spacer locator 8 or logic planar board 7 adds virtually zero tolerance build up between Blocks 5 on logic planar 7 and the connectors on the logic cards. Spacer locator 8 eases the assembly it goes into and helps to provide the best possible alignment between block 5 pins and the logic card connectors. This is accomplished through the use of plastic springs 6. Plastic springs 6 provide the following functions: 1. They provide a zero clearance opening for blocks 5 to slide through. This is accomplished because the springs are able to move or spring to the exact size of the blocks 5. 2. They provide an automatic self centering effect between blocks 5 and spacer locator 8. This is what happens when identical springs push against each other from opposite sides of blocks 5. 3. They ease assembly.

Spacer locator 8 eases the assembly it goes into and helps to provide the best possible alignment between block 5 pins and the logic card connectors. This is accomplished because the springs are able to move or spring to the exact size of the blocks 5. 2. They provide an automatic self centering effect between blocks 5 and spacer locator 8. This is what happens when identical springs push against each other from opposite sides of blocks 5. 3. They ease assembly. The curvature of plastic springs 6 gives the zero clearance opening a funnel type entrance. This makes the opening easier to find during assembly. Plastic springs 6 also provide some retention between spacer location 8 and blocks 5. This retention makes it easier to mount logic planar 7 and spacer locator 8 to the logic frame.
