Abstract

A folder is a logical organization of documents. These documents may be organized in linear and/or hierarchical schemes. When a folder is distributed and delivered to a recipient's in-basket, the recipient would like to maintain certain characteristics like new, unopen, and open for all documents and folders contained within a folder. The new method described in this article permits a folder distribution to maintain in-basket attributes for each document or folder contained within a folder distribution.

As the result, the first level of folder will change its attributes from 'new' to 'unopen' to 'open' accordingly.

Subsequent level of folders and documents within a folder have their ...
