EMC Shield Liner for Plastic Bezels

The EMC shield liner for plastic bezels shields removable computer bezel panel openings from electromagnetic radiation and interference in frames with large sheet metal dimensional tolerances, while allowing high use with low wear and low product cost.

The metal liner 1 (see figure) attaches to the back of the plastic bezel part 2 to form an assembly. The liner is light- gauge stainless steel with spring fingers 4 formed around the edges to provide contact with the box chassis frame 3. The shape of the liner fingers allows them to spring inward when the bezel is inserted into the computer chassis frame opening 3. The spring fit of the liner into the frame is similar to the way an automobile hubcap fits into its wheel rim.
