Abstract

An arrangement is described and illustrated for unloading printed circuit boards from a dual lane conveyor into a single tote pan. Printed circuit boards 1 randomly dispersed and travelling in two lanes along conveyor 2 need to be located and placed into tote pan 7. Location is accomplished by use of reference rail 5. When a board is sensed in position at reference rail 5, cylinder 8 operates independently to lower pick-up head 4 which grasps the board which is then raised by cylinder 8. When cylinder 8 is fully retracted, cylinder 3, operating independently, extends and releases the board into tote 7. Cylinder 3 then retracts and waits for the next board to be sensed. Cylinder 3 operates independently and will not extend until other cylinder is fully retracted.
