Abstract

A method is described for allowing a user to automatically select whether or not to invoke the 3270 Personal Computer (PC) Emulation program to establish control or leave control in the Disk Operating System (DOS). Previous approaches to this problem employed a task menu that required an operator to press a key to go to the application that was desired. A better approach is to have a parameter in the program invocation that automatically tells the IBM 3270 PC to select the host session or the DOS session. An advantage to this approach is the operator is taken out of the loop as an active participant.
