Pivoting Self-Service Banking Terminal

The self-service terminal assembly 10, shown in schematic form in the Figure, includes at the input/output area 11 a keyboard 12, display 13 and document apertures 14. The terminal assembly is mounted on horizontal pivots 20 and is enclosed by a heavy duty structure 16 such as a safe.

The assembly 10 can be pivoted horizontally up or down utilizing any suitable pivoting device such as a cooperating motor 32 and a lead screw assembly 33. The pivoting is activated by a two-way button 15 mounted on the exterior of the terminal. The terminal can be tilted upwards in a direction A to accommodate vans or trucks or tilted downwards in a direction B to accommodate cars or pedestrians.
